Salary £24,174 (pro rata for part time).

Based at South Derbyshire CVS, Swadlincote, Derbyshire.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed person to join our friendly Community Development Team, supporting local communities, organisations and volunteers in South Derbyshire.

The role will involve providing support, information and advice to voluntary and community groups, social enterprises and volunteer-involving organisations. This might be on a whole range of issues in response to need - including fundraising and funding applications, governance, legal structures, charity registration, volunteer recruitment and management and setting up a new group. The role will also involve promoting volunteering, developing new volunteer roles and supporting individuals to find suitable volunteering.

Ideally, we are looking for an experienced Development Worker, though if you have substantial experience in a range of roles within the voluntary and community sector and knowledge of the issues involved, we would also welcome your application. Experience of developing volunteering or of supporting social enterprises would be an advantage.

This is a permanent post, subject to funding.

Volunteer Opportunities with South Derbyshire CVS

We have a range of volunteer roles at SDCVS. Some are behind the scenes and others are supporting service users. Most of them don't require any particular skills or experience as we provide training. You can help out a couple of hours once a month or twice a week – it's up to you.

Here's an idea of what you could be doing.

You could help out on our reception and gain customer service skills or provide admin support for our projects. You could help make up food parcels or collect food donations from drop off points.

You could use your practical skills like gardening or driving to help others.

You could provide one to one practical support for a month to help someone get back on their feet or longer term befriending to individuals who are lonely or isolated.

For an initial discussion and to find out more, contact Shelley on 01283 219761 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to email Shelley.
