Volunteering

Volunteer Centres keep an eye on the local, regional and national scene to identify proposals or legislation that may impact on volunteering. We lead on and participate in campaigns on issues that affect volunteers or volunteering.

We campaign proactively for a more volunteer-literate and volunteer-friendly climate.

For example, we are concerned about the fact that mileage expenses limits for volunteer drivers that are set by HM Customs and Revenue have not been increased for a number of years, despite the steep rises in fuel and other costs. We are actively campaigning on this issue.
