DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

Part time, temporary opportunity (hours flexible up to 25 hpw, fixed term to 31 March 2020)

£25,295 pro rata. Based South Derbyshire CVS, Swadlincote

Closing date: Thu 18 April at 12 noon

SDCVS are looking for an experienced Development Officer(s) to join the Community Team, as one of our current officers is being seconded to a new project. The purpose of the role will be to engage with, and provide support to, local voluntary groups, networks and communities. The work is varied and may involve community consultation and grassroots community development, helping new groups set up, providing support, information, training and funding advice to established organisations, organising events and forums, and developing volunteering.

Volunteer Opportunities with South Derbyshire CVS

We have a range of volunteer roles at SDCVS. Some are behind the scenes and others are supporting service users. Most of them don't require any particular skills or experience as we provide training. You can help out a couple of hours once a month or twice a week – it's up to you.

Here's an idea of what you could be doing.

You could help out on our reception and gain customer service skills or provide admin support for our projects. You could help make up food parcels or collect food donations from drop off points.

You could use your practical skills like gardening or driving to help others.

You could provide one to one practical support for a month to help someone get back on their feet or longer term befriending to individuals who are lonely or isolated.
