Welcome to South Derbyshire CVS
South Derbyshire CVS is a voluntary sector development agency based in Swadlincote that covers the whole of South Derbyshire.
Our aim is to work with community groups, voluntary organisations and individuals to improve the quality of life in South Derbyshire.
We began operating in May 1996 and have grown considerably since then.
Derbyshire Volunteer Passport - new dates
Do you volunteer, or are you thinking of volunteering? Then this FREE course is for you!
Derbyshire Volunteer Passport for volunteers who support Children & Young People in Derbyshire.
There are 5 sessions which include: Equality & Diversity; Health & Safety; First Aid; Safeguarding; Getting the opinions of children & young people.
Course dates: (All 09:30-12:30 at South Derbyshire CVS, Swadlincote)
- Friday 21 June - Equality & Diversity
- Friday 28 June - Health & Safety
- Friday 5 July - First Aid
- Friday 12 July - Safeguarding
- Friday 19 July - Getting the opinions of children & young people
When you have finished training you will be awarded a certificate and a Volunteer Passport photo ID badge. The ID badge will be awarded to volunteers who have a current CRB check. We can help you get a CRB check if you don’t already have one.
Don’t worry if you can’t make one of the sessions – you can complete it on the next programme.

Att Erewash Volunteer Centre, Granville Avenue, Long Eaton NG10 4HD
The agenda has yet to be finalised but will include:
- discussions with Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Trust about how they can engage and work better with voluntary and community organisations
- an update from Healthwatch Derbyshire
As usual the meeting will be held in the morning followed by lunch. However, we will then be holding a brief meeting after lunch for voluntary and community representatives only to discuss issues that have arisen from the morning session.
