Appeal for Volunteer Drivers

Derek is one of our Social Car Drivers

Here at CVS we would welcome more drivers for our Social Car Scheme due to an increased interest in the service.

The scheme helps people who are unable to use public transport for whatever reason.

Volunteer drivers could find themselves taking a client to a day centre, doctor's surgery, hospital appointment or social group. Drivers simply need a bit of spare time and a vehicle which they can use. There are no minimum hours and the scheme can work around the drivers other commitments. Expenses are paid to the driver at 40p per mile.

Existing drivers get a great deal of satisfaction from offering their time, as most clients are very isolated and very appreciative of the service.
