Food Hub

It’s a sad fact that many people within our community experience food poverty; that’s why our Food Hub strives to make sure that no one has to go hungry.

We offer a service where the individual is central, ensuring that our clients physical and mental wellbeing are equally safeguarded. By creating a warm, welcoming environment and a space for healthy conversations, we endeavour to reduce the stigma attached to people accessing a Food Bank.

We work closely with other support-based services and signpost our clients for them to have access to more in-depth support such as debt advice, dealing with housing issues and addressing energy poverty.

If you would like to hear more about what we do, or need support, please get in touch.

Our Food Hub is located on the Top Floor of Unit G, Sharpes Industrial Estate, Alexandra Rd, Swadlincote, DE11 9AZ

(above Cain Brothers Timber Merchants).

Food bank opening times are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9:00am - 3:30pm via appointment only.

CHRISTMASCARD

Christmas Colouring Card

This year, we have been delighted to go into schools to teach children about the work our food bank does. This helps reduce stigma and educates children on the difficulties people in our community face when budgeting for food.

During these sessions, we have been overwhelmed by the kindness and understanding demonstrated by the children attending. One of our fantastic staff members involved in these sessions has created a very cute Christmas card for any parents and educators looking for a colouring activity over Christmas. A little reminder to keep Christmas kind!

It can be downloaded below.

If you are interested in having us in for a session, or downloading some fantastic educational resources regarding food banks, please get in touch with us! We can’t wait to expand on this aspect of our work.
